Financial Aid

The Blue Mountain College Office of Financial aid serves students, families, and the community by providing financial aid information and resources to assist students in achieving their educational goals. We are committed to providing quality financial aid services to our constituents while maintaining equality and accountability in the administration of public, institutional, and private financial aid funds.

Students may apply for Title IV federal student aid, as well as a wide range of institutional and state aid.  More information is available in the Blue Mountain College online Catalog.

The many rules that govern the funds administered by the Office of Financial Aid require complex processes. Procedures for applying for Financial Aid at Blue Mountain College include:

  1. Completing an official application for admission to BMC.
  2. Filing a FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after October 1 of each year.
  3. Contacting BMC's Office of Financial Aid to complete additional financial aid information.
  4. Submitting applications for BMC scholarships through the Office of Admissions.

Code of Conduct – Office of Financial Aid

To ensure trust in our administration of financial resources to help students fund their education, we adhere to the following code of conduct:

  • We respect the dignity and protect the privacy of students, and ensure the confidentiality of student records and personal circumstances.
  • We communicate to our constituents established priority dates, deadlines, and eligibility criteria.
  • We communicate to students the need to complete and submit required documents in a timely manner.
  • We provide comprehensive financial aid counseling for students, prospective students, families, and the community.
  • We continuously evaluate our services to students and families, striving to provide the highest quality services to our constituents.
  • We make certain these requirements and the requirements of state and federal law are followed through regular reviews and audits.
  • We use as a guideline the NASFAA’s Statement of Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct.

Student Loans Code of Conduct

Blue Mountain College, in compliance with the Student Loan Code of Conduct requirements of the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, prohibits the following:

  • Revenue Sharing agreements with lenders
  • Soliciting or accepting gifts or other things above nominal value from entities involved in making, holding, consolidating, or processing student loans.
  • Offers of funds for private loans
  • Consulting/Contracting arrangements between school staff and entities involved in making, holding, consolidating, or processing student loans
  • Assigning a lender to any private loan borrowers
  • Refusal to certify or delay of certification based upon choice of lender
  • Employees of lending institutions to work in or provide staffing assistance to our offices
  • Receipt of compensation for advisory board service
